A Cost-Effective Way to Recomplete Your Smile

If you have lost one or more teeth, it is important that you consider your tooth replacement options. Without a prosthetic to fill in the gap, your remaining natural teeth may drift out of place, leading to a misaligned bite and the risk of further tooth loss. There are also aesthetic considerations; you may find yourself embarrassed by the gap in your smile. At New Haven Dental Group in Hamden, we offer several ways to restore lost teeth, including long-lasting and durable dental bridges.

WHY CHOOSE NEW HAVEN DENTAL GROUP FOR DENTAL BRIDGES?

What Is a Dental Bridge?

There are a few types of dental bridges. The most common type is known as a fixed bridge or traditional bridge. It is a multi-unit prosthetic that has a crown on each end. The crowns get bonded to the teeth adjacent to the empty space, called the abutment teeth. Between them, the crowns support between one and three pontics (artificial teeth).

In addition to traditional bridges, we also offer implant-supported bridges, which gain all of their strength from dental implants, which serve as prosthetic tooth roots, rather than abutment teeth.

As mentioned in the previous section, dental bridges are among the most affordable tooth replacement options. Our team will be happy to give you an estimate for the cost of your bridge when you come in for a restorative consultation. Your prosthetic’s price will depend on which materials are used to make it, how many teeth need to be replaced, and whether it is a traditional or implant-supported bridge. In many cases, dental insurance covers about half the cost of bridges.
